Programme Objectives

The broad objective of the program is to build knowledge and skills to facilitate high performance as effective professionals in health and hospital systems, both in the public and private sectors. The syllabus and course content are designed keeping in mind the current requirements of the healthcare industry. The objectives are as under:

  • To develop skills in planning, building and managing healthcare organizations.
  • To participate and contribute to the formulation of public health policies.
  • To enhance decision making and administrative competence of the students to enable them to face challenges of the healthcare industry.
  • To promote knowledge through applied and conceptual research relevant to management and to disseminate this knowledge through publications.
  • To collaborate with other institutions in India and abroad for furtherance of professional exposure.
  • Taking Management education towards institution building in a meaningful manner.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A Graduate from any discipline with 50% or above [45% or above for SC/ST/OBC/ EWS/ PwD] aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
  • Candidates in the final year of the bachelor's degree may also apply. If they would furnish evidence of meeting the minimum eligibility criteria by September'2023

Selection Procedure

The eligible candidates will be invited for the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Final selection of the candidate is based on his/her performance in the qualifying examination, score in CAT/ XAT/ NMAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA/ GMAT/ IIHMR-U MAT, Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI) as under:

  • Registration Fee for IIHMR UMAT Examination - Rs. 500 only
  • Student will be allowed to take IIHMR UMAT maximum three times which includes first attempt in addition to two retake attempts. Fee of Rs. 500 will be applicable for each retake of IIHMR UMAT.
  • No Fee is applicable for rescheduling IIHMR UMAT or GD-PI
  • Registration fee for IIHMR UMAT as well as Application fee is not refundable under any circumstances

SUMMER TRAINING

Each student is required to work with an organization, on a project for a period of a minimum of eight weeks at the end of the first year. The objective is to allow students an intense day-to-day interaction with organizations. Summer Training provides exposure to the student on the working of an origination in the real time. It also helps students to develop managerial skills, competencies and facilitate an informed career choice by the students. At the end of summer training, they are assessed based on their performance during the period through their report submitted and poster presentation.


ELECTIVE COURSES

Electives are offered based on current industry needs, students' requirements and their interest.


DISSERTATION AND INTERNSHIP

Each student is required to submit a dissertation involving primary research in his/her area of interest. The dissertation includes a critical review of literature of specific area of interest, data collection, and analysis on the selected problem. The dissertation must be completed in the second year to qualify for the degree.

P. D. Agarwal Scholarship

MBA Hospital and Health Management:

  • Merit Scholarship:
  • The merit scholarships will be awarded to students applying for MBA PM as per the following details on meeting any one of the given eligibility criteria and score obtained in the admission process:
    • Total Number of Merit Scholarships Available: 45 Scholarships
    • Eligibility Criteria: The scholarship will be awarded to students based on meeting the following eligibility criteria and on first come first serve:
      • 55% or above aggregate marks in MBBS
      • 65% or above aggregate marks in BDS/ AYUSH
      • 80% or above aggregate marks in any other bachelor's degree
    • Amount of Scholarship: Rs. 1,00,000 each student
  • Freeships:
    • Under freeships, full tuition fee reimbursement will be offered to students belonging to SC/ST/OBC/ EWS (Economically Weaker section) on need cum merit basis.
    • Total Number of Freeships available: 1 Freeship for SC/ ST/ OBC and 1 Freeship for EWS student.
    • Eligibility Criteria:Freeships will be awarded to eligible students based on combined merit (Including all rounds of GD & PI) prepared at the time of admission.
  • Terms and Conditions
    • Merit Scholarships are not guaranteed to all the students fulfilling the above criteria.
    • Limited number of merit scholarships for each program (as mentioned above) will be awarded based on the above eligibility criteria and on first come first serve basis at the sole discretion of the IIHMR University.
    • Freeships will be awarded to eligible students based on combined merit list prepared (including all rounds of GD&PI) at the time of admission.
    • In case of tie between two students having same overall score in the admission process, offer of scholarship/ freeship will be given to the student who would be having higher percentage in bachelor’s degree..
    • The total scholarship amount will be adjusted in the last instalment. The amount of Scholarship will not be disbursed directly to any of the student.
    • Benefits under freeships and scholarships cannot be availed together. Students who are offered freeship will not be eligible for availing scholarship along with freeship.
    • There is no need to apply separately for scholarship. The application form submitted for admission for the opted program by the prospective student will serve as application for scholarship.
